Dewain Robinson II, an individual trading as RobinX ("RobinX", "we", "us"), makes the RobinX budgeting app. This policy explains what information the app collects, why it collects it, who receives it, and what control you have over it.
The short version
- We never connect to your bank. RobinX cannot see your accounts and never asks for bank logins, account numbers or card numbers. Your budget holds only what you type in or choose to keep from a statement you paste.
- Pasted statements are read on your phone. The text you paste is processed on your device and is never sent to us. Only the rows you choose to keep are saved to your account.
- No ads and no tracking. The app contains no advertising or analytics SDKs, does not track you across other apps or websites, and does not sell your data.
- Your household sees everything. If you share a budget, every member can see and edit all of it.
- You can delete your account from inside the app in Settings → Delete account.
1. What we collect
Information you give us
| What | Details | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Account identity | Your email address, or the identifier and email address Apple or Google gives us when you sign in with them, plus a display name if Apple or Google provides one | To create your account and sign you in |
| Budget content | Names you give budget lines (for example "Rent"), planned and actual amounts, transactions and their notes, dates, due days, pay schedules, savings targets, debt balances, interest rates, minimum payments, and month history | This is your budget, so we store it to provide the Service |
| Household | Which household you belong to, your role in it, when you joined, and the invite codes you create or accept | To share a budget between members |
| Settings | Your reminder settings (which reminders are on, how many days before a bill, quiet hours), plus your household's currency and time zone | So the app works the way you set it up |
| Messages to us | Anything you send to robinxbudgeting@gmail.com | To answer you |
Sign in with Apple. If you choose Hide My Email, we receive only Apple's relay address, never your real email address.
Pasting a statement. If you use "Paste a statement", the app reads your clipboard only when you tap the button to paste. The pasted text is read and sorted on your device and is not sent to us. Only the transactions you keep are saved to your account, each with its date, amount, and the description you chose to keep with it.
Information collected automatically
| What | Details | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Crash reports | When the app crashes or hits an unexpected error, a report goes to Sentry. It contains the error and stack trace, the app version, and device information such as model, operating system version and locale. The app is set not to attach your IP address or account details, and session replay is turned off. | To find and fix bugs |
| Subscription status | Whether your household's subscription is in trial, active, in a billing grace period, or expired; which plan; when it ends; and your RevenueCat customer ID, which is your RobinX account ID | To unlock the app for your household |
| Service logs | Our hosting and authentication provider, and RevenueCat, keep standard request logs such as IP address, time and user agent when the app connects to them | To run the Service and keep it secure |
Kept only on your device
These are stored in your device's secure storage (the iOS Keychain) and are never sent to us:
- your sign-in session;
- your light, dark or system theme choice;
- which in-app tips you have dismissed;
- your onboarding answers until setup is finished, including why you are using RobinX. The reasons you pick are used only to tailor the setup screens. After setup, only the resulting budget lines and goals are saved to your account.
Bill and log reminders are scheduled locally on your device. We do not use push notifications, so we hold no push token for your device.
What we do not collect
We do not collect bank login details, bank account or routing numbers, payment card numbers, government ID numbers, location, contacts, photos, health data or biometrics. We do not use your device's advertising identifier.
Payment details never reach us. Apple processes every purchase. We learn only the subscription status described above.
2. How we use it
- To provide the Service. We store your budget, sync it across your devices and your household, and calculate totals, projections, reports and reminder times.
- To manage subscriptions. We decide whether your household has access.
- To keep the Service secure. That includes enforcing the rule that only members of a household can read or change its data.
- To fix crashes and errors.
- To answer your support requests.
- To meet legal obligations.
We do not use your information for advertising. We do not build profiles of you, and we do not use your budget contents to train machine-learning models. The app does not make automated decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.
3. Who receives it
Our service providers
We share personal information only with these providers, and only so that they can run their part of the Service for us:
| Provider | What it does | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, sign-in, server functions | Your account details, budget content, household, settings and subscription status |
| RevenueCat | Subscription management | Your RobinX account ID, plus purchase and subscription details from Apple |
| Sentry | Crash reporting | The crash reports described above |
| Apple | App distribution, payments, Sign in with Apple | Purchases and, if you use it, Apple sign-in |
| Sign-in, only if you choose it | Google sign-in | |
| Resend | Delivering your sign-in emails | Your email address |
Members of your household
Everyone in your household can see and edit all of its budget data, and can see each member's display name and role. Anyone who has an invite code can use it to join until it is used, withdrawn or expires (after 7 days). Treat invite codes as private.
Other disclosures
We may disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the safety or rights of users or others, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of the business. In a merger, acquisition or sale, we will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
We do not sell personal information. We do not "share" it for cross-context behavioural advertising, as California law uses those terms.
4. Where it is stored
Your account and budget data are stored with Supabase in the United States (US West, Oregon). Sentry stores crash reports in the United States. RevenueCat, Apple and Google process data under their own privacy policies, which may involve transfers to the United States and other countries.
5. How long we keep it
- While your account exists, we keep your account and budget data.
- When you delete your account, it is removed from our live database straight away (see section 6 for what happens in a shared household). Copies in our hosting provider's backups are overwritten within 7 days.
- Crash reports are kept for 90 days.
- Service logs at our providers are kept for 7 days.
- Subscription records held by Apple and RevenueCat are kept under their own retention policies. Account deletion does not currently remove your record at RevenueCat; ask us at robinxbudgeting@gmail.com to have it removed.
- Support emails are kept for 24 months.
6. Your choices and rights
You can do all of the following in the app:
- See and correct your budget data at any time, by viewing and editing it.
- Change reminder settings in Settings, or turn notifications off in iOS Settings.
- Withdraw an open invite code in Settings.
- Delete your account in Settings → Delete account. Deletion is permanent:
- If you are the only member of your household, the household and all of its budget data are deleted.
- If other members remain, your account, profile, reminder settings and the invite codes you created are deleted. The shared budget, including the transactions and entries you added, stays with the remaining members, no longer linked to you. If you were the owner, ownership passes to the member who joined earliest.
- Deleting your account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Cancel it in your Apple ID settings.
The app does not currently offer a data export, and you cannot leave a household without deleting your account. To get a copy of your data, or for help with anything above, email robinxbudgeting@gmail.com. We respond within 30 days and will not charge you or treat you differently for asking.
If your subscription has lapsed, the app shows only the subscription screen. To delete your account in that case, email robinxbudgeting@gmail.com from the address linked to your account.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know, access, correct and delete your personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you.
Canada and Australia. RobinX is offered in Canada and Australia as well as the United States. Canadian users have rights of access and correction under PIPEDA, and Australian users have them under the Privacy Act 1988. Use the contact address below to exercise either.
RobinX is not offered in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, and we do not target users there.
7. Security
- Data travels between the app and our providers over encrypted (HTTPS) connections.
- Your sign-in session, and anything else the app stores on your device, is kept in the iOS Keychain rather than in plain storage.
- Rules in the database itself ensure that only members of a household can read or change its data. Subscription status can be changed only by our server, never by the app.
- Supabase encrypts stored data at rest.
- Email sign-in uses one-time links, so there is no RobinX password to steal or reuse.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
8. Children
RobinX is for adults and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, email robinxbudgeting@gmail.com and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date. If a change is material, we will notify you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
